How SaasTrack Builds Pricing History

The rules behind what enters the public library, how dates are represented, and what the data can and cannot support.

This methodology applies to public vendor histories, category pages, comparison pages, the XML sitemap and the machine-readable LLM references. The same eligibility rules are shared in code so those surfaces do not advertise conflicting inventories.

Method 01

What the database measures

SaasTrack records observable states of public SaaS pricing pages: published plan names, prices, billing periods, included features, quotas, and the date on which each state was observed. A historical record is evidence of what a page displayed on that date. It is not a promise that the same offer is available today, in every country, or to every customer.

Method 02

Sources and dates

The primary source is the vendor's own public pricing page. Historical coverage may be reconstructed from dated Internet Archive captures of that page. The date attached to a record is the observation or archive-capture date, not an inferred launch date. Source URLs and capture dates are retained with the record wherever the underlying evidence is available.

Method 03

Extraction and validation

Automated extraction identifies price, currency, billing period, plan and feature fields. Records that cannot be assigned a usable currency or do not pass the data-quality checks are withheld from public charts. Plan-level library pages require at least one successfully mapped plan capture. Head-to-head comparisons require at least three usable observations on both sides and a shared software category. These gates reduce one-point charts, false pairings and links to routes without usable series.

Method 04

Freshness and coverage

Every vendor page states the first and latest dates represented by its chart. Sitemap modification dates come from those actual observations; a deployment does not make an old price record look new. Coverage varies by vendor because archived pages, currencies, experiments, regional offers and dynamically rendered prices are not equally available. Readers should follow the linked live pricing page before making a purchase or commercial decision.

Method 05

Editorial independence and limitations

SaasTrack is a monitoring and research product, not the seller of the third-party software listed in the library. Vendor names and trademarks identify the products being observed. We do not treat a missing field as proof that a feature did not exist, and we do not convert historical observations into present-tense claims unless a current capture supports them. Taxes, negotiated discounts, promotions, seat minimums, geography and enterprise contracts may change the effective price.

Method 06

Corrections and reuse

If a price, plan mapping, source or date appears wrong, use the pricing correction form and include the product, disputed value and supporting URL where possible. Questions can also be sent through the contact page. Permitted use of the site and dataset is described in the Terms of Service.
